Sculptra, a look at facial volume and wrinkle concerns

We listen to your concerns about hollow areas, firmness, and wrinkles, and discuss how a PLLA-based product works and whether it is suitable for your face.

PLLA and the Sculptra product itself

Sculptra is a tissue-restoration biomaterial that uses PLLA (poly-L-lactic acid). The manufacturer describes an approach in which the body's response to PLLA particles stimulates collagen production. The approved indication in Korea is temporary improvement of facial wrinkles in adults.

Checks before treatment and guidance after treatment

We walk you through each step in order, from what to check before treatment to expected reactions and side effects and aftercare.

  1. 1
    Before Treatment

What to confirm at your consultation

Let our medical team know about any skin infection or inflammation, hypersensitivity to ingredients, history of keloids, hypertrophic scars, or hyperpigmentation, past herpes, and previous treatments.

  2. 2
    During Treatment

    Treatment area and precautions

The manufacturer prohibits injection into the red part of the lips and does not recommend use around the eyes or between the brows. Injection into a blood vessel can cause serious side effects such as blindness and skin necrosis, so the exact area and method must be confirmed.

  3. 3
    After Treatment

    Aftercare

We explain aftercare suited to your skin condition and treatment plan during your consultation. If you notice unexpected symptoms or discomfort, please contact our medical team.
